Intelligent Enterprise

The Intelligent Enterprise is a concept offered by SAP. It consists of SAP S/4HANA at its core, applications that support the enterprise’s operations, data about the customer’s experience, and a platform for leveraging them to drive DX.

Regardless of the size of the company or the industry, there is a pressing challenge to achieve a vision, a strategy and an IT platform to drive digital transformation (DX).
SAP created the concept of the Intelligent Enterprise and based on this concept it offers a number of products and services to help clients with their DX approaches.
According to SAP, Intelligent Enterprise applies AI, machine learning, IoT, and a wide range of advanced technologies to streamline and improve operations so that all employees can engage in high-value-added jobs.
To achieve this goal, SAP offers business applications and intelligent technologies through its SAP S/4HANA ERP solution.

Definition of Intelligent Enterprise

The Intelligent Enterprise is a strategy that allows enterprise to quickly transform data into insights, automate processes, drive innovation and provide an optimal experience. By using the advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), IoT and Analytics, employees are able to focus on higher value outcomes.

Intelligent Enterprise has the following three key capabilities:

  • Visibility: The ability to collect and connect traditionally siloed data to recognize pattern
  • Focus: The power to simulate potential options and direct scarce resources to the most influential areas

Elements that comprise Intelligent Enterprise

SAP offers many products and services that transform companies into Intelligent Enterprise. These products and services fall into the following categories:

Operation

Groups of applications that are primarily transactional, including ERP, CX (customer experience), and HR (human resources) apps. These applications generate O-data (operation data) that’s ultimately aggregated into ERP software at the core of the enterprise.

Experience

Business is more than just transactions. In today’s world, the success or failure of a business depends on the customer experience. Intelligent Enterprise provides an insight into the customer’s impressions of a company and aggregates them into the overall customer experience. This is known as X-data (experience data).

Intelligence

By connecting O-data and X-data, Intelligence Enterprise is able to leverage platforms such as machine learning to generate new insights from enormous amounts of data and connect them to the business. Intelligence platforms not only optimize customers’ business, but also leverage customers’ data to add value.

The goal of Intelligent Enterprise is to achieve DX by leveraging the various applications and platforms that make up the business. At the core of this is ERP, and SAP S/4HANA is not just a traditional ERP system, but an important platform for supporting Intelligent Enterprise.
